Malden and Everett, MA collectively fixed 192 issues on SeeClickFix in one month.

During the month of October 2015, SeeClickFix challenged the residents and municipalities of Everett, MA and Malden, MA to a "Fixapalooza"! Fixapalooza was a month-long friendly competition between the two cities that uses the SeeClickFix platform to improve their communities. For a full review of the stats for October, head here (or check out the bottom of this post).

The two cities had three performance SeeClickFix metrics tracked throughout the month:

  • The number new citizen SeeClickFix sign-ups
  • The number of new issue submissions
  • The number of public issues fixed and closed

In October, Malden and Everett collectively closed 192 issues, collected 77 SeeClickFix sign-ups, and garnered 280 new issues submissions during the month of October. Everett was particularly successful at new SeeClickFix sign-ups, increasing their sign-ups by over 5%. Malden excelled at both new issue submissions and closing issues, increasing issues submissions by over 100% (103.65%) and issues closed by 81.07%!

"I applaud the efforts of SeeClickFix for initiating this friendly competition and to my colleagues in Everett for their willingness to participate. It helped to engage our constituents and draw attention to a tool like SeeClickFix that can help cities collaborate on quality of life issues. With nearly 30 streets (need to check on that fact) that abut the Everett border, it is important that we work in cooperation with each other to make sure that our residents' concerns are being addressed."

-City of Malden Mayor Gary Christenson
