Remember when Ron Swanson fixed a pothole? Now, imagine 100 Ron Swansons fixing thousands of potholes in one city.
That’s Washington DC this month!
Starting last Friday, the District of Columbia began its annual campaign to fill potholes. This is Washington DC’s 8th annual Potholepalooza campaign.
During the campaign, Washington DC residents can call, tweet, or email government officials to repair the potholes. In addition, residents can report potholes in minutes directly from their smartphones or desktops using SeeClickFix.
Once they receive the reports, the city's transportation department will work to repair identified potholes within 48 hours, rather than its normal 72 hour response time.
This past January, SeeClickFix’s partner Houston, TX also ran a Potholepalooza campaign with tremendous success. Their pothole repair rate hit 96%, and Houston residents reported hundreds of potholes with Houston’s 311 app powered by SeeClickFix. Listen to the Assistant Director of Houston 311, Frank Carmody discuss January’s campaign, its results, and SeeClickFix here:
